My citizenship application is in process and I have applied for a US visa after sending my application. Do I need to update IRCC about that. Please help.

I think that as your US visa application is after & outside your official 5yr eligibility period on your citizenship application, that, at this stage, there'd be no need to volunteer your US visa application information. But be aware that by heading down to the US while your Canadian citizenship application's in-progress, you run the risk that the officer in charge of your file may deliberately choose to sit on your file, for years, thus eventually timing-out your PR up here.
Why would that happen thou.. its just a tourist visa because I wanted to plan a 2 week vacation trip with family
You never mentioned that in your original post. There are all kinds if visa, not just visitors..
2 weeks vacation is certainly no issue

I went to Mexico and US several times after i applied for citizenship. At the interview the officer and i mostly talked about my mexico trip and he was suggesting me whereelse to go in mexico haha.. i dont think its a problem if you are travelling after submitting your application.
I meant if you were applying for a US work visa. Going as a tourist will be fine, don't worry.
