Hi,

I am Pooja, I moved to Canada in March 2022 and want to apply for Express entry draw scheduled for next month. I was working in USA with cognizant and got intracompany transfer to Canada for cognizant itself. I have LMIA exempt details. I was filling the PR form and entered my job offer details but I am not given points for the job offer I have in Canada. Need help in this regard. would appreciate any clarifications or leads or information.

You need to work in Canada for your employer for one full year before you will qualify for the 50 job offer points. So March 2023 is the earliest you'll be able to claim the 50 points.

i Understand that's for CEC right, but i am going to apply for express entry. 1 year will be concluded for Canada experience right, as per IRCC details provided i qualify for express entry for additional 50 points if I enter Canada with a job offer. My CRS score also adds up the job offer points for express entry.

You need to read the detailed rules around claiming a job offer to get the 50 points. Again, what you have will not be counted as a job offer under Express Entry / FSW until you have worked in Canada for your employer for one full year. Because you hold an LMIA exempt work permit, you do not qualify for the 50 job offer points immediately. You have to wait until you have worked in Canada for a full year. This is how the rules work.

Thanks a lot for the information, I was really confused and was finding ways to get this clarified. Have a good day.
