Hi All,
I would be landing in Canada in July. I might have to travel to USA(have a valid US visa), for a short visit before I get my PR. Couple of questions,
1) Should I apply for PRTD once I am in USA for reentry to Canada? Wait times seem to be more for PRTD.
2) Considering wait times are there alternate means for me to reenter Canada?

Thanks,
Ice

Enter Canada back from US through land route in a private vehicle.

with COPR

So you are travelling to the US before you are a PR so how would you apply for or need a PRTD before you are PR maybe I misread ?

@aru_nj & jairichi,
Thanks,
I may not have a private vehicle. Is it allowed to take a cab / bus to the border, cross it on foot? with COPR? Will I be allowed entry?

@Bs65 - I have COPR i may not have the PR card by the time I have to travel. Current PR card processing times are about 2-3 months.

Yes, you can take a cab to the border and cross on foot, of course with your COPR. I don't know where you're planning on entering Canada from, but I did that at Rainbow bridge, Niagara, with no hassles. There is a dedicated pathway for pedestrians. I assume it's a similar setting at the other land point of entries.

Thanks koolbone.

I would be visiting Niagara and might go over to meet a few friends. I have a valid US visa.
