Hello, I'm from Nigeria, i got admission in Canada in August, i applied for my study permit on October 12th. On my application i didn't work more on my family or home ties. But i used my elder brother's landed assets to back up my application, i also wrote that he sent the money for my proof of funds to my bank account of which i uploaded. i have four siblings and my parents are late. three of my siblings are working and i also currenly have a job which i stated on my SOP. please would this by any means cause any reason for refusal of my application? My brother is my sponsor

What is your question exactly. His assets are not your assets so not a tie. Your siblings jobs are not relevant either. Your success is based on showing education and career advancement, language ties to home country, funds etc. How old are you? What is your education level? What is program?

So you are 26 years old so you should be showing your own funds and not your brother’s fund. His assets and properties are not yours so not a tie.

I'm 26 years old, currently working in an IT sector which i stated on my SOP. Yes i have submitted a bank statement of $30k CAD as my proof of funds. i have never been to college before, i did programming as well as web development, later switched to cybersecurity and that is the program i applied for. would this help in my visa?

The money for my proof of funds is in my bank under my name. I only used his landed properties as a back up to my application and I don’t know if this will help in anyways???

What is the program if you have no post secondary. How many years? College/university? His properties are not relevant to your application. Funds are in your name so that is good.

The program is Cybersecurity, I did programming after my secondary school, then did a certification course on Cybersecurity of which I currently work with that while I applied for my studies. I also included that on my application and on my SOP but didn’t upload any documents on them. Please Is this a better chance for me?

So is it a one or two year program? If you did a certificate then you have already taken a program in cybersecurity. Your current job is not really related if teaching. Funds are in your name so that is good. If refused consider a degree program.

It’s a 1 year program, and the one I did already was just a two months program (basic Cybersecurity not advanced) just two months.
my problem is the family or homes ties because I did not put anything there other than documenting all my siblings here in Nigeria and their current jobs and relationship status. I just would like to know if this would be a problem by any means ?

What you mentioned are not home ties so yes, it could be an issue. Siblings are not immediate family so not a reason to return. Their jobs and relationships are not relevant.
