Urgent: Us Driver’s Privilege Card for Canadian license

Hi, I am on a H1B visa pending renewal with my visa expiring on 9/30/2021, in my state they only allow you to have a drivers license with approved visas so I have the option of getting a drivers privilege card instead to be able to driver. However if my visa does not get approved will I still be able to exchange the drivers privilege card for a full drivers license in Canada. I will be moving to Ontario once my PR is approved. Any advice would be helpful. @legalfalcon

Thanks for the response but I’m being asked to surrender my drivers license to get a drivers privilege card. Can I get a Canadian license based solely on the driving records?

No you cannot. Your US license needs to be exchanged. You cannot keep US drivers license in any case. Even if its expired, whatever is the latest that you had they will take it and give you a Canadian license.
