Urgent: Transfer from study permit to open workpermit:

Hello,

I and my spouse both came on independent study permit. Now, I am in my 1st semester and I would like to stop studying and get a open work permit based on my spouse study permit. Is it possible?
Further how lond does it take to do this status change?

u will have to apply for work permit and it will usually takes around 45-50 days.

Thank you for your reply...further, I am in my 1st semster , can I still complete the semester after I apply for the work permit procedure?

technically ur on ur study permit until u get ur work permit so i would guess yes.
