hello all

please help me as i have an urgent query.

i have been living and working in uk since past 4 years after i finished my bachelors there. now i am in pakistan as my uk work permit is expired. i would like to got to canada via study permit but i am worried because i was told i will be rejected.

some top consultants in karachi told me that i will be rejected. they said this when i told them that my brother lives in toronto and has PR. also my mother lives with him on visit visa which will expire next year.

in these circumtances, what should i do? please let me know.

will there be any problem if i apply for study permit? consultants told me that visa officier will reject my application when he finds out my mother lives there. is this all true?

The consultant fear it because your home ties are not sufficient but if you show following things in relation to Pakistan you might have a chance......
Your Job in Pakistan
OR
Your Property
OR
Your Business
OR
Your Blood relations......

AND your Profile If it is strong every thing will be ok.......

Those gentalmans are wrong.
it's your profile that matters for visa not your brother's stay in canada.

this whole scenario depends on your whole profile.
yes, it does weakens your case in terms of home ties but you can get visa too. show strong home ties like property, family business established in pakistan, sisters and brothers living in pakistan, future job prospects in pakistan after u complete ur studies in canada so that u come back and find a job easily.
Remember, i told u visa depends on whole profile of students.
I have seen guys whose sponsors were their uncles and they were even canadian nationals but still they managed to get visa.
best of luck

The consultants say this for one reason; there are 2 main concerns of the CHC while issuing a visa to an applicant;

1- Home ties
2- Financial stability

For home ties; you have to prove that you will return back home as soon as you are done with your education. Since, you have a family abroad (and that too in Canada itself), the visa officer might think that you have more chances to stay in Canada after completion of your degree. And that is why maybe the consultants are advising you not to apply.

But nobody can say for sure on what the decision will be. If you intelligently write in your 'cover letter' with proof that you have no intention of staying in Canada after completion of your course, you might get the visa as well.

If you are an experienced professional and have worked in some big organizations then there is a possibility that the they feel that you can be valuable to their country.

Keep one thing in mind though, there are number of cases that the consultants have ruined! i personally don't believe any single one of them. If you are looking to apply as a student, do it yourself, there is nothing that a consultant can do that you yourself can't do. This forum alone is enough to answer all your queries.

Good luck. Hope this helps :)
