We submitted an inland spousal PR application in August 2021 along with the OWP extension. However, it was returned on December 30, 2021 due to a missing signature. We fixed the issue and mailed the PR application with the OWP again on December 31, 2021.
The problem is my partner's OWP expired on December 31, 2021. I called the IRCC call centre and was told that my partner has maintained status since the application was mailed on the day his OWP expired. Apparently, the officer will backdate the received date by 7 days if received after the expiry date. I also read on the IRCC website that "for extensions, if the initial work permit will expire before permanent residence is obtained, the application should be submitted online. This ensures that the applicant receives the interim proof of work letter."
I guess my question is can my partner continue working and can we still submit the OWP extension online?
