Hi,

I need some clarification/suggestion regarding spouse visa.

I first time landed in the month of October 2013, My PR card is valid till Nov 2018. I am currently working in UAE, I am planning to marry in Jan. I have checked online processing time from Pakistan is 36 months while its only 15 months from UAE. Is it possible to bring her in UAE and file her PR from here? or please suggest what should i do...

Thanks in advance

Hi

if you are not a Canadian citizen, you must reside in Canada in order to sponsor your spouse.

As mentioned earlier; Since you are a PR you need to be in the country to sponsor a spouse.

The best course of action would for you to get married, come back to Canada and apply an out land application.

Normally CIC takes the nationality of the applicant to decide on the visa office or the country the applicant has been residing lawfully for at least one year; so you can get her to UAE for a year.

I agree with this course of action, however the CIC will choose (and it's their choice) Pakistan for processing, not UAE.

Yes I think so too but since they also mention they will take the visa office of the applicant who has been residing for a year its worth pursuing. its up to the OP to weigh the options if he can sponsor to UAE for a year and then another year and half
