Hi guys,
After searching online, immigration website and in this forum, I think I figured it out, the confusion regarding PGWP after MEng. I am not sure about it. Someone please correct me.
Most of the universities requires completion of 10 courses or 8 courses and a project for the successful completion of MEng programs.
Each course is of 3 credits. Also, student can enroll for a minimum of 2 courses per term and a maximum of 3 courses per term.
So one can complete the graduation requirements in the following ways,
1. Fastest Way
Fall: 3 courses
Winter: 3 courses
Summer: 2 courses ( course based MEng)/ project (Project based MEng)
Fall Next year: 2 Courses.
Total time required= 4 terms or 2 semesters+ additional Summer term or 16 months of full time study or 2 complete academic years. (01 Academic year= 8 months of full time study.) So student is eligible for 3 years PGWP.
2. Slowest Way
Fall: 2 courses
Winter: 2 courses
Summer: 2 courses ( course based MEng)/ project (Project based MEng)
Fall Next year: 2 Courses.
Winter, Next year: 2 Courses.
Total time required= 5 terms or 4 semesters+ additional Summer term or 20 months of full time study or 2.5 academic years. (01 Academic year= 8 months of full time study.) So student is eligible for 3 years PGWP.
So what I understood is that, MEng program of about 30 credit hours are eligible for 3 year PGWP. I need advice from seniors here. Please correct me.
