Hi, I have a very difficult situation. I live in Australia and am getting married next year. My sister lives in Canada. She's on a work permit visa that's specific to her employer. It states that she's not authorised to re-enter. There's no single or multiple entry on the visa. We've tried speaking to everyone in immigration, but they're all useless. Can she leave the country and return 2 days later without it affecting her current visa? Will she lose that visa? Is there special circumstances or a special form or process to ensure she doesn't lose everything? She's also applied for PR but that will take 16 months to process. Please help!!!!!!!!

Well first question might be which country passport does she hold ?

Your situation is as far from difficult as possible. She simply needs to apply for an eTA.

And if transiting the US by plane an ESTA, the ETA allows her to board a plane back to Canada. Use the official US/Canada government sites for either.

She's not going to the US, she needs to come to Australia. My question is will she lose her work permit/visa if she leaves and returns? She needs her work visa to stay in the country. She can't apply for a new one either as she only gets the one opportunity with her visa.

Why would you think she would lose her work permit??

As I already stated, she just needs to apply for an eTA to return to Canada.

You missed my point unless she is taking a flight direct from Canada to Australia then she is probably going to transit the US in which case she needs an ESTA to transit the US. If taking a direct flight and just transiting Vancouver or starting out from Vancouver for example then good to go without an ESTA.
