Urgent Police certificate validity

Hello All

I am leaving UK and i received my police certificate just now. how long will this be valid for?

if i apply for canadian immigration next year then will this be ok to show or do i have to order another one next year?

please advise

Police certificates must be submitted to CIC/VO within three months of being issued. If you plan to apply for Canadian immigration next year, you will need to obtain a new police certificate.

also if i come to canada to study and stay there on study permit and then apply for residency then will i still need new police certificate?

Yes - you will still need new police certificates when you apply for residency.

PCC valid for 1 year, but as Syclla said PCC must be submitted to CIC within three months of being issued.

in most countries, they are valid for 4-6 months. no less than 4 months

CIC makes its own rules for Canadian immigration/visa purposes. Police certificates for all countries are valid for a year - however the police certificate must be received by CIC within three months of being issued or it's no longer valid.
