Hi,
I am Canadian citizen by birth and I live in Slovenia for 35years. With my family we decided to move to Canada. I have a wife who is a Slovenian citizen and two small kids both born in Slovenia. The kids are Canadian citizens by my side. That's why I'm sponsoring only my wife.
with my wife we sent the application to Mississauga and we got a letter from CIC:
Your application is incomplete; you will find details of the item(s) taht are missing from this application below:
Proof of payment of the processing fees was not included with your application

We are going through Vienna and we payed the fees, amount of 725EUR. The amount I calculated on the Vienna's Embassy web-site.
For Permanent Residence Applications - Processing Fees for spouse 385EUR / that's 550CAD
Permanent Residence Applications - Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) 340EUR / that's 490CAD
If you calculate that's the amount of 725EUR or 1040CAD. I payed in EUR because on their web-site says:
Country of residence:
-If you reside in Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, The Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia or Switzerland you should pay in euros into:

We included the original confirmation of payment, isn't that enough? For me that is proof of payment. So I do not understand what is wrong. Did they lost it? >:( >:(
I called the phone number that was on the letter of CIC and I can't get through.
I'm leaving Slovenia this Sunday and arrive the same day in Canada. My two small kids and my wife will stay in Slovenia till the application is approved. I will try to get CIC on the phone and clear out that they have the original confirmation of payment, and say if the proccess of application can speed up so we won't be separated so much time.
I want my two kids and my wife ASAP with me in Canada.
Please I need infos URGENT, please please if anyone has a clue what could be wrong?

The fees were incorrect.

You should pay the sponsorship fee, and the principal applicant fee. The right of permanent residence was correct.

The fees to be paid are as follows:

- Sponsorship fee - 75 CAD
- Principal applicant fee - 475 CAD
- Right of permanent residence fee - 490 CAD

Except for the RPRF, the other fee that you paid is incorrect, the 550 CAD for spouse is when the principal applicant (immigrant) has a spouse (in the case of parents sponsorship).

When you pay online, you choose what type of payment you are making. So even though your payment amounts to 1040 CAD, you chose the wrong type of fee from the drop down menu.

Thank you for your quick response.

But still don't understand. I paid the whole 725EUR (that's 1040CAD) amount to
Bank Austria - Member of UniCredit:
IBAN: AT40 1200 0506 7046 9901
SWIFT: BKAU ATWW

The amount for me is the same.
RPRF - Principal Applicant 490CAD/340EUR
Permanent Residence Applications - Processing Fees for Family Class: Principal Applicant 550CAD/385EUR. As I understand here is that 75CAD for sponsorship, or Vienna is more expensive for exact amount of 75CAD?
490CAD + 550CAD = 1040CAD or 725EUR
Here you put infront the 3w.canadainternational.gc.ca/austria-autriche/visas/fees-frais.aspx?lang=eng
I didn't pay online where you choose and pay the fees. I payed for the calculated amount to the account where it says I should pay.
They accept two metods of payment and I choosed this one:
Direct deposit or bank transfer: Follow the instructions below according to your country of residence.
If you pay by direct deposit, please provide us with the original bank receipt.
If you pay by bank transfer, please provide us with the original bank receipt or with a print out of the transaction (if done online).
We do not accept direct deposits or bank transfers for less than the exact amount of the fee(s) in the table above.

Country of residence:
- If you reside in Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, The Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia or Switzerland you should pay in euros into:
Please note that we will not pay administrative fees charged by the banks.

Am I missing here something?
Can someone help me with this issue, please.
Thank you

as stated above the 3 fees you must pay are

SPONSOR FEE
PRINCIPLE APPLICANT FEE
RIGHT OF PERMANENT RESIDENCY FEE

If you did not pay the $75 sponsor fee, then CIC can not start processing the application, and will not until THAT fee is paid. you must pay the sponsor fee and principle applicant fee in order for the application to be considered complete. as others have said, even if your total equals $1040, you did not pay the correct fees. If you are paying a "spouse" fee, you are paying an incorrect fee.

the fees are the same in canadian dollars no matter where you are from. whether it's "more" in euros, that's for you to figure out.

By going to the CIC website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp) and selecting Sponsorship - Family Class (Spouse or Common Law....), you reach this page: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/result.asp?lob=fc&cat=spon, that says:

"Pay at a financial institution

If you cannot or do not want to pay online, you must get an original receipt of payment form IMM 5401 to pay at a financial institution (such as a bank or Western Union). This form is not available online. You must order an original receipt by mail.

You must include a copy of this receipt IMM5401 with your paper application.

CIC does not accept money orders and bank drafts as payment."

So this means, for the Family Class application, you must order from CIC a payment receipt form (IMM5401). Order a receipt of payment here: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/kms/introinit.do?dispatch=introinit&appno=5401&lang=en&_ga=1.158422906.1533093193.1379455445

Just as a note, paying online is much faster and easier. Not many people know how to help you with your problem because not many people pay their fees at a financial institution.

Even if you paid the right amount of money (1040 CAD), you did not pay it properly, through the proper means for Family Class Sponsorship. I don't think the website of the Vienna Embassy is the right place, since it clearly says on the CIC website, the only ways to pay your fees for Family Class Sponsorship is either online or by ordering this IMM5401 form.

Thank you for the info.
I paid as instructed on Vienna web-site and there is nothing about the IMM5401.
But now surley don't know what to do.
Maybe is enough when I come to Canada to pay for sponsorship online and Vienna office will then accept the confirmation of payment.
I went for Canadian passport like this and it was enough, just to enclude the payment method as instructed from the embassy.
I will try to contact CIC on the phone to see what is the best for me and reunite with my family in Canada ASAP.
Thank you for yor help again.
If anyone has any suggestions please don't hesitate.
Thanks

In the document checklist for sponsor is writen:
Copy of your Receipt(IMM 5401), stamped by the financial institution where you pay the fees or, (I think this it would be if I would live in Canada and not residing abroad)
that is for me:
if you are a Canadian citizen residing abroad, an international bank draft or money order, in accordance with the instructions given in the Guide to sponsorship. (this is in my case)
And in instructions are written:
Fee payment for Canadian sponsors residing outside of Canada.
Canadian citizens living abroad may submit a payment via bank draft or money order. However, in order to process your application, your fee payment must meet the followinf criteria:
be payable to the Receiver General for Canada;
ect.....
Any opinions?

thank you

I think your best bet is to get your fees returned to you, and start over. you obviously didn't pay for the fees correctly, and CIC is not going accept your receipts for your application. the Vienna visa office has nothing to do with paying the fees for family sponsorship. it's not the same as paying fees for visitor visas or passports or whatever. it must be paid as specified in the application. online through CIC website or at a bank with the proper payment receipt.

if you want your application to process, then pay the fee online correctly, and get a refund issued for the fees that were paid incorrectly. if you can't pay online, hopefully someone can tell you how to do it as a sponsor living outside of Canada.
