Hi,...my husband received an email from VO requesting him to submit his passport for the final stages, however he's scheduled to travel in 3 weeks and will need his passport. Is there a way for him to get back his passport before his departure date? VO is London. Please any ideas will be helpful. We've emailed the VO but haven't heard anything back.

Thanks

Then I wouldn't submit it until he returns from all necessary travel. No one here, nor CIC will guarantee that he would receive it back in time for that.

The problem is he will be gone for 2 weeks which exceeds the 30 days limit he was given to respond to the passport request

Then it boils down to 2 options. A) if it's for work he's tells his employer he cannot travel for personal reasons... (and doesn't) or B) email the VO again with an explanatory note something to the effect of "in the absence of a reply from your office, my husbands passport will be submitted on 'such-and-such' date, immediately upon his return from necessary travel" (perhaps including why it is mandatory ie work-related). That way, it's not as though you have "ignored" their request and I don't think they would close your file for that.

AS long as you inform them of what is going on, it should be fine. Just let them know - and explain when your husband will be gone, when he returns, and if you have the plane ticket, add it as a proof - you can send it through email directly. They will either answer that they can issue the visa right away (not very likely but you never know), or tell you that it's OK to wait, and extend the deadline.
Good luck,
Sweden

Thanks Sweden, that's what we're hoping for...after waiting for almost 8mths, I'm scared of something going wrong.

Thanks truesmile. I'll do that

Hi!
Could you please let us know after you contact the VO? We might be heading into the same situation.
Best of luck! :)
