Hello all,

I'm in a very stressful situation. I'm a US citizen, so I planned to apply for the study permit upon reaching Canada at the POE. Everything did go well. No problems at all. But when the VO looked up the UMI number on my e medical information sheet, no results were there! And because of that, I didn't get my study permit. I really need advices on what to do. I plan to go to the border again to apply. Please help.

P.s - US citizens generally don't need medical examinations unless they lived in a country which requires it. That's why I needed it.

How long ago did you complete the medical?

Did it on 26th of August. The physician confirmed that the results would go the very next day.

I called again today, and they told me that the results did go on the 27th.

That's the issue. You should have completed your medical earlier.

Just because the medical has been submitted to IRCC doesn't mean everything is done. Once the results are uploaded by the doctor, it typically takes IRCC another 2-3 weeks to process the medical and make the results available. So if they were uploaded on the 27th - you're looking at sometime between September 9th and 16th before the results are available and your study permit can be issued at the border.

Thank you so much for clarifying that. Now my question is, when and how do I know for sure that my medical report will show up so that I can apply for the study permit again?

I'm not sure there's a way to know. Hopefully someone else will comment and confirm.
