Hello, this is Diksha, an international student, recently took withdrawal from a full-time program due to some personal reasons. I want to pursue a different course of my interest
which will commence in Fall, 2018 intake. Right now, I need guidance
to reflect upon my situation as I have to maintain a valid visa in
Canada.
Should I take any part-time or short full-time courses to fill the gap between Feb. and August. What else could be done not to go against CIC rules?
I really need some help. I'm very new to this country and don't know much about it. And I don't want to return to my country to generate a new study visa.

You should be able to do a part time course. When does your visa expires?. I suggest you should probably call CIC. Donot take advice from any consultant they will misguide you completely. Talk with CIC they are the real authority!! I hope you get it
Do you have work rights?

Thank you for your reply saurabh.
My study visa will expires in February, 2019. Currently, I'm not a full-time enrolled student. I don't know whether my 20hr/week work rights are still valid or not. I'm too confused. I think I should be able to maintain a valid student visa status by entering into a part-time course. My intentions are here to study only. If I told CIC about my situation & they told me to return back and re-apply for fall intake. Then i will be of nowhere...!!!!

Is there anything else which can be helpful for me..?
Please reply.

You should not work at all. 20hr/week is only applicable to full time students. Make sure you read the rules about PGWP which came in sept 2017. If you take unofficial drops you may not qualify for WP. Also your college could report IRCC and your study permit may expire if you stay inactive for more than 90 days.

Thanks prateek to peek into my situation.
I'm not working at all. If i stay active by taking part-time course or full-time short courses in any DLI institutions. Will my status remain valid?
Or shall I inform IRCC after having my Fall, 2018 intake offer letter? What else could be done to fullfil the gap between the withdrawal and the re-admission dates so that I can remain here without. Whom should I contact for authentic guidance?
