Dear All,
I need you kind suggestion regarding choosing between NOC 2141 and 2233.
2141- Industrial and manufacturing engineers
2233- Industrial engineering and manufacturing technologists and technicians
Both of them suits to my job day to day job duties. Due to my education background (MSc Engineering) and job titles, 2141 suits me most. However, the Saskatchewan PNP program is not calling this NOC what I have seen in past few years. They are calling NOC 2233 which usually requires a college degree or diploma.
In that case, can I choose 2233 NOC for me to apply in PNP? Thank you so much for your kind help and advice.

Your employment letter will list your duties…what NOC does it match? For SINP, your education also must match the NOC and if SINP thinks you are over qualified then your application will be refused. You say your 2141 which should be your NOC based on your education. Your call what to do but if you are refused it will be because your have a MSc for a position that requires college education.

Thank you so much for your reply @Naturgrl . If I am refused, will it have a negative impact if I want to try again? As I can see they are not calling NOC 2141, therefore is it common that people downgrade themselves to take the benefit? Thank you so much for sharing your insights.

SINP officers know what you are trying to do so as 2233 also doesn’t require a license. You have a masters degree and applying for a technician position that doesn’t require licensing so your chance of refusal has a high chance. It will not have a negative impact except for all the time that will pass in reviewing your application.
