Hello All

I have completed my bachelor of commerce from india(3 year course). But I am thinking to do credit transfer and evaluation of my degree to make it equal to canadian bachelor degree.

My questions is : If I need to study 8-12 months to make my degree as canadian degree(4 year degree). Than for how long will I get the Post-Graduation Work Permit for ? Will it be 12 months or 3 years (because of length of the program).

Only for the time you study in Canada (and, receive passing certificate from school established in Canada).

A Post-Graduation work permit cannot be valid for longer than the student’s study program, and the study program must be a minimum of eight months in length. For example, if you graduate from a four-year degree program, you could be eligible for a three-year work permit if you meet the criteria. If you graduate from an eight-month certificate program, you would be eligible for a work permit that is valid for no more than eight months.

In your case it would be 12 months long

thanks for your reply, but I checked the CIC website and they mentioned that work permit is given based on the course length not the time studied in canada.

because after completion of 12 months, I will get canadian bachelor degree.(4 year degree). Please if you can clarify.

thank you.

The CIC website mentioned course length but from there it is understood that the whole course is studied in Canada. Your scenario is different.

You can not add the course duration which you did not complete inside Canada. You will get the work permit ONLY for the duration you complete inside Canada.
