URGENT HELP NEEDED on Bridge Open work permit

Hi All,

My current work permit expires in end of Jan 2014 and my employer is not planning to extend my WP since it is LMO. My wife has open work permit based on my work permit.

Now am planning to submit my PR application in next couple of days. Am not sure whether i will get my AOR atleast Mid Jan 2014 to apply Bridge open work permit.

Am Thinking of few options.

1. My wife employee is ready to give employment letter ,using that can i apply new work permit for my wife and based on my wife work permit, can i apply open work permit for myself. is this possible?

2.If some reasons, if i did not get my AOR by mid of jan 2014. Can i apply change of status to visitor and continue to stay in canada? and once i receive my AOR, can i apply my Bridge open work permit?

Seniors, Please give me your suggestions for my situation..

if you switch to visitor status you will not be able to apply for BOWP anymore since one of the requirements is to hold a valid work permit that is set to expire within 4 months and the time of application.
if your wife employer is willing to extend her work permit he needs to file for an LMO,employment letter by itself is not enough.
if you can meet the eligibility for CEC very soon then i advise you to file for it asap,you might be lucky to get your AOR before your work permit expires but if you didn't get your AOR i advise you to wait until the last week before your work permit expiry date then file for your BOWP on paper application not online since this will buy some more time and include a cover letter indicating that you are awaiting your AOR.
this way you will be under implied status and can stay in the country legally and work for the SAME employer and by the time an officer opens your BOWP application you would have already received an AOR and the immigration officer will be able to see it in the system,which means your BOWP application will be approved.
my big advice to you is to check your CEC application many times before you send it and make sure all documents are included,signed and correctly filled,payment in included and have an eligible valid IELTS,because if there is any issues with your application it will be returned to you hence your BOWP will be totally out of chance.

Thank you for your detailed response and suggestions.Yes, am carefully reviewing my CEC application, will be submitting in next 1 or 2 days.
