When a friend called one of the designated clinics for upfront medical exam, she was told that upfront medical exam is not possible for CEC (because it is e-medical). She was told it can be done for other PR programs, but not for CEC. Now, she has to wait until she receives medical request from CIC, otherwise she can't do upfront medicals. Did anyone else have the same problem?

what rubbish dr is saying ..

it is possible my friend for CEC prog also
many of us did upfront for CEC

I also thought it was rubbish. But the clinic wouldn't give an appointment for upfront medical. And the applicant doesn't want to go to another clinic, because this particular clinic is the cheapest one.

Upfront medicals for CEC is very much possible. Some of the physicians behave like nerds. I had a completely different experience for myself :). Many people have appeared for their upfront medicals and everything went pretty smooth for them. However, as per what I understand from others experience of going through upfront medicals, it didn't help their processing speed up by any chance. In some cases the process got delayed when compared to people who waited for their MR to show up. So, I would suggest to ask your friend to wait for the MR to show up.

Hi Surya,
I was going to ask you the same if doing upfront medical speeds up the entire process? But as aforementioned that it kinda delays the process instead. Any idea why there would be a delay instead?

No exact clue why would it delay. Note that it happened for some cases ONLY. But, may be they take time to locate and validate your results as they will start looking for if the results were available already only when the application reaches to that stage!

Just a POV not sure about the reasons :)

Should be fine! Is it possible for you to try another doctor?

I believe a lot of people had the same problem here when they are booking upfront for CEC. Most of them choose "Worker" instead and it worked fine with them. Now most of them have their PR cards already. One of the case was our expert star senior: Toby http://cectoolkit.weebly.com/my-upfront-medical-experience.html

Intially, I booked for upfront as well using "Worker", but I ended up getting my MR sooner before I finalized my exam. Then, I updated the PP with the info from my MR.

Not sure at the moment, whether Upfront Medical accelerate PR process. Many people had a great success earlier this year, few of them thou had the opposite. But if your application not doing well, Upfront Medical would be a waste of your money since it is not refundable. So use your own discretions...
