Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi all, who have submitted and application in process.

Do we get updates each time stages are passed or do we have to just check ourselves (ie Medicals Passed/Failed, Review of Status Passed/Failed, BG Passed/Failed) etc?

I only submitted this week so not sure what to expect.

Thanks for all your replies.

Can anyone please offer some insight?

Thank you.

Hey JoacRy, good to know that you've finally submitted your eAPR. As to your question, it seems that the update notifications are a mixed bag. Most of the times, we do get emails about 24 from the updates. But browsing through some of the threads, I've seen some posters claiming they never got those "ghost" emails. In other words, doesn't hurt to check your CIC account/eAPR submission page every 48 hours or so. I personally check every 4-5 days or so. Best wishes to you.

If your application is progressing, you will not receive a lot of news about it. Expect your medicals to change to "passed" at some point, and background check to "in progress". The next step is already PPR (or request for RPRF if you haven't paid it already).

You will typically receive an update email 24h after the update is visible in myCIC. You will also receive an email if there is correspondence waiting for you in myCIC.

Many people also receive update emails when nothing in myCIC has changed. This is what forum members call a "ghost email". I have never received one of those.

The common interpretation is that this means someone has touched your profile, but I don't think there is sufficient evidence for that. I might just be funny quirks in their IT system.

By all means, a lack of these ghost emails doesn't mean that no one is working on your profile. Like I said, I never received one and my processing time is dead bang within the 6 month window.

A lot of people also spend a lot of time comparing timelines, and many get upset when they supposedly fall behind. There are so many individual factors that it makes no sense to do so - it will only stress people out.

I just stopped checking this forum for 4-5 months or so and only logged back in as I was approaching the six months. Highly recommend this for sanity and peace of mind.

In the message sent to the myCIC account with the subject 'Confirmation of Online Application Transmission', it says the following:

What happens next?

CIC will review the information and documents that you provided and processing will begin.

CIC will notify you by e-mail if we require additional information or documents. You do not need to log into MyCIC to check for messages or updates until you receive an e-mail advising you that you have one

We all need to follow your example, I think. Currently, I have managed to limit myself to checking myCIC no more than once/week, but I visit this site way too often. It's affecting my productivity. I need to stop it for my own sanity.
I see your application was successful. Congrats.

Yep - that was me post eAPR. I took me a couple of weeks to realise it, but once I did, I simply blocked in on Leech for Firefox. Problem solved, productivity recovered.

Thanks! Good luck with yours.

Generally, when ever there is an update to your application you will get an email that there is some update to your application and you can go and check it in myCIC. Sometimes you will get an email and see that there is no update to the statues at all from the last time you visited. Hence it is called ghost email :) :) :).

I made a habit to check the application every Friday so that in case I do not get any emails I know what's happening with my application.

When there will be status update for any of the category, you will receive an email.
