Hi all,

I'm about ready to submit the application but still uncertain about applying Outland while living in Canada as a temporary resident (student). On Form 1344, 6a) do I select "Spouse living outside Canada" ? Are there any other questions which could be a problem in this situation? I only ask because 6a) recently changed the answer from just "Spouse" to "Spouse living outside canada" or "Spouse living in canada"

I have the same issue. Did they accept your application?

They recently adjusted the forms to make it more clear that applicants living in Canada can still apply under the outland category. If you are living in Canada, you should answer as such. Section #4 on the first page of the checklist is where you put if you're applying inland ("spouse or common law partner in Canada class") or outland ("Family Class"). There is an option to choose Family Class while living IN Canada. Everything else you can just answer accordingly. They will refer to the checklist to determine which class you are applying under.

Thanks, but here is my question:
I am a Canadian living in Canada and I am sponsoring my wife from another country. I could not decide which option I have to choose on Q6 which asks Relationship to Principal Applicant. Do I choose "Spouse living in Canada" or "Spouse living outside Canada"?

Please help me.

Is your wife living in Canada? If so, answer "spouse living in Canada". Is your wife living outside Canada? If so, answer "spouse living outside Canada".
