Unsure if I should extend my visitor status
Not sure if anyone has this same story but thought I would ask for some advice. I've been in Canada since October 2014 and have renewed my visitor status twice my current one expires in April. My current visitor status I applied for in September and was approved just last month and was good for 6 months. The question I have is after I applied for my extension I was given a 1 year VR at the border when crossing so I'm unsure if I should even apply to extend my visitor status again with CIC.
I honestly thought by now I would have my COPR but nothing yet. If I don't have to spend another $100 to CIC that would be great but of course I will if I need to.
Since I and can live here but can't work or study on my VR does that over ride my visitor status? It's so confusing! I don't want to mess up anything with CIC.
I keep thinking I'll get DM before April since lots of US applicants that applied months after me have DM but apparently my app was shuffled to the bottom of the pile Smiley
Thank you

I think you are OK since you have the VR in-hand, but if this happens to anyone else you can cancel the online visitor application.

It's hard, but try not to look at other people's times, its basically just random luck as to how long your app takes.

Thanks so much for the response. I just want to make sure I don't mess anything up with CIC.

You're very right on not comparing others timelines but sometimes easier said than done ;) I'm just so ready to get back to working and feel like part of society again!! :)
