Unpaid internships classification - employed or unemployed?

I have a question - how should I note unpaid internships/gigs in my personal history when filling out my application. I was not able to find guidance for this but during school and in between jobs I did some unpaid work to demonstrate professional development etc. Would this fall employment or unemployed? Any insights would be appreciated.

Assuming said internships were part of a degree program, there's no need to mention them at all. They're covered by the education entry in your personal history as they're part of your education.

ok thank you. what about unpaid internships when not in school? i had one right before I got a job. would that be classified as unemployment?

You can mention it as Employment. Since you're not claiming points for it, you don't need to provide documents in support of it.
