Hello everyone,

I am an international student who got admit from good universities like Waterloo and McGill but I shortlisted waterloo as in English province. I have a query regarding the fee refund. My brother submitted 1 yr fee of $50,000. and applied for a visa on 26 June but due to this COVID 19, I am not expecting to get a visa very soon that's why I want to refund my money back from my university. So, if I take my money back does it will affect my visa application? Does the visa officer verify fee receipt from my university if yes so when did they verify any approximate time if anybody has knowledge please let me know? Any help from any person will be really appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Yes you can try and refund the money but you should know that most if not all universities charge a deposit fee that is non-refundable. Also, the process for refunding can take long. Some people have had to wait for up to 1 year for refunds. On your question of if the visa officer checks. No they do not.
