Hi everyone,
I've searched the forum (and the internet) for an answer to the following question: Are degrees/diplomas issued by universities in Northern Cyprus recognized by the Canadian authorities or any accreditation or assessment bodies?
About 7 years ago I graduated from a university in Northern Cyprus and am preparing to apply under the FSW category (when it opens...hopefully soon). However, speaking with some colleagues, I was made aware that graduates from universities from Northern Cyprus have a hard time getting their degrees recognized by many countries, including Canada, and thus are not able to successfully obtain immigration visas to Canada.
Does anyone have experience with such scenario? Any reputable source or fact that proves or disapproves the above statement?
I would appreciate any feedback and replies to this topic before I venture and start an application that may be a candidate for failure from the get go.
Thanks everyone, and best of luck to you all.
Happy holidays,
Moe
