Hello everyone,
I graduated from a Quebecois, Montreal private school in November and submitted a post-diploma work permit in time.
In January I received a negative answer stating that the school wasn't part of the post-diploma work permit admissibility.
My potential employer and my school were really surprised and we hired a lawyer. In the meantime, two other FRENCH students like ME, received their permit, with the same documents, school, etc...
So basically, the immigration had an unfair decision. If you dont give me the permit because the school is private or whatever excuse they told me (it changed overtime on the phone), then why do you give it to other people ???
I called many times, they CANT reopen my request, CANT accept new documents from the school and the lawyer.
And of course I'm overtime, so I cant ask for a new post diploma work permit. I asked for a visitor status while with my potential employer we'll follow the procedure to get a work permit.
But I might have to leave the territory which is terrifying because I moved in with my Canadian girlfriend here, I have a band, I'm really invested in my Montreal life and there is no way that I go back to France. Especially knowing that we might have a Trump lady over there soon (lol..)
Anyway, does anyone know what to do ? Should I start legal procedures? Should I give up and spend more and more money for other permits?
They told me there was NO way to speak with the agents.

By the way, I'm french so if your noticed some weird syntaxe or sentences, you know what happened haha.

They did not discriminate against you, it's just that some schools have programs that do not qualify for the PGWP. Did the two other French students come from the same program.

You have 90 days from the denial of your work permit to file for restoration of status. What has your lawyer advised you?

When was your work permit refused? On what day? As explained above, you have 90 days from the time you are refused to apply to restore your status. Have you done that yet?

If you were working, I assume you stopped in January when the PGWP was refused.
