Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding my Canadian citizenship application.
Before becoming a permanent resident, I was on a closed work permit and had applied for PR under the CEC category. After applying for PR, I was unemployed for about 2 months while still on a closed work permit. During that time, I remained in Canada but was not working. I also spent about 2 months in my home country without pay.
Will this period of unemployment or staying in Canada without a job have any impact on my citizenship application, or raise any concerns (e.g., regarding employment history or maintaining status)? In that particular year, my total income was lower compared to other years.
I meet the physical presence and tax filing requirements.
I would really appreciate any insights or similar experiences.
Thanks in advance!
