I have applied for PR under PNP ONtario - International student (PhD)category. I applied for PNP in Feb without any job and I got my nomination in June. I applied for PR to CIO Nova Scotia in July. Due to the bad job market, I am not able to get a job so far. However my PNP category doesn't require me to have a job. Can being unemployed affect my PR application? Can it result in denial of my application?

Interesting scenario... however it should not affect unless you have stated that you are currently unemployed. Rather then showing that you are unemployed because of bad job market, you shud say that you taking higher studies and grab some course for showing off.... may be its comlicated but better to show that you active at moment... else they will not see your potential necesssary in canada...

The category under which I applied does not allow you to study. You should have finished your degree and should be ready for the job market. So, this is not an option. I just applied for PR last month and still waiting for AOR. My credit card has been charged. Do you think it would be a better idea if I get a job and send them the job letter once I get a file number??

It's all good. You just have to show proof of funds that all

Thanks a lot biometrix for relieving my stress. I also called the Ontario PNP office asking if I need to have a job and they said no. The lady said that federal govt. will assess my application based on the category rules under which I applied, so I shouldn't worry about that. She also confirmed this thing from a senior officer. So, I am thinking that I shouldn't worry too much about it. Hoping for the best.
Also, I have attached proof of funds of around $20,000, which should be fine I guess.

That's good... njoy man dont take worries... it was also new to me ...
