my dad has a dependent which was non-accompany with him when he was first come to Canada under parents sponsorship. I sponsored my dad and still financial support him. Now his ex-wife (not my mom) just passed away and his dependent (this dependent is his ex-wife's custody) is alone right now. My dad, is holding PR, plan to sponsor his dependent to Canada with him.
My question is I have to undertake my dad for 20 years and now he plan to sponsor his dependent, do I have to undertake his dependent as well? hopefully No, but if yes, how long should it be?

Thank you

Your father should be able to sponsor this dependent provided this dependent is 21 years old or under and provided this dependent is your father's child or your father had legal custody / adopted this individual.

You won't be financially responsible. Your father will be financially responsible.

thank you, what a relief!
if the responsible is on me, that's really too much for me. Thanks for your response
