Hello,
this forum is very informative and I hope someone can help answer my question. I understand that when I apply to sponsor my spouse to come to Canada I am agreeing to support her for the first 3 years. It's like a contract, however, what if she come here and apply for social assistance without my consent? Is there any way to prevent that from happening within the agreement? Or make it so that it is her own responsibility not mine, since I never consent her from applying for social assistance?

No.

If she needs to seek social assistance, you are on the hook for it.

Her family income would be considered for social assistance purposes, so if she's living with you she would likely not be eligible.

If she leaves you, it's your responsibility.

So, if we got into fights and she said that I abuse her and leave me. Then go on social assistance, it is my resposibility? Because I talk to a lawyer, he explained to me that since I signed the contract. He told me to speak with an immigration lawyer to see if there's a way I can get off the hook for that. Wow, very tough situation..

Yes - it's your responsibility for three year. Yes - you signed a contract when you applied to sponsor her. Don't waste your money on a consult with an immigration lawyer - you can't get out of this.
