Hello everyone! I have hesitation in notifying IRCC of my address where I want to have my PR card mailed. Here's the scenario:
I landed Oct 3rd 2017, got my COPR stamped at the immigration with my ex-common law partner's address. We were still under a common-law status when she applied for Permanent Residency for me and for our kids. She already with someone else when our PR visa was granted. Our kids arrived here in Canada last month. She didn't want me to come here so she only booked a flight for our kids which is totally okay with me. No hard feelings at all since I believe it is for our kids' better future. Then I decided to might as well follow without her knowledge and have no plans whatsoever of making trouble. All I want is to take advantage of the privilege of having a PR visa and live peacefully. I am currently living far enough from them. And I don't want her to know that I am already here so I would like to have my PR card sent to my current residence.
The question is:
1. would CIC conduct an investigation if I change my address on file?;
2. am I allowed to notify CIC of my address or does it have to be done by my ex-partner?

I would gladly appreciate everyone's input.

You have obtained PR status fraudulently and are asking for help to perpetuate the fraud. I doubt anyone here is going to help you.

Since you've obtain your PR status fraudulently, you should be aware that CIC could revoke your status at any time in the future. Same goes for citizenship if you ever get it. Your status in Canada will never be safe.

I'm sorry. I must've said it the wrong way. I mean, We have been together for a long time and had kids. She has never been with someone else when she arrived here. It was just recently when she had an affair with someone else.

You didn't say it the wrong way. You and your ex were not in a relationship at the time you landed. CBSA would have asked if there was a change in you family status or information. You didn't tell them you were not with your ex any more. You committed fraud. You could loose your PR or even citizenship for this.

On no. I guess, I should pack now and fly back home. Why all the misery. First my partner was taken from me, then my kids. Now, my Canadian dream will be taken away, too. So, it's "GOODBYE, WORLD" for me now. don't worry, i won't do it here. I don't wanna compromise their future, as well. Thank you guys. Good bye

So you mean that I should have informed the officer right away that we are no longer together? It would have put me in trouble anyway, wouldn't it?

Note that your ex-partner has already placed herself at risk. She was required to inform IRCC of the relationship breakdown and have you removed from the app. In failing to do that, she also committed misrepresentation.

Not sure how you think she is not going to find out that came to Canada. You share children how will they visit you? Your ex-partner made a big mistake in not reporting the change in relationship and assumed not booking a ticket was enough.

You should have never used the PR visa you were issued to land in the first place. The PR visa was issued based on your common law relationship being ongoing. You had split up by the time you landed. Hence you committed fraud by using that visa to land and become a PR. The letter accompanying the PR visa specifically states that you are to notify CIC if there are any changes to family composition. You failed to do that.

To me what your doing is dirty that why people like you make it hard for real couples to sponsor our spouses and common law partners because of lying
