Hello,

I was unaware that my study permit had expired on August 31 and continued by day to day life normally until on Oct 11 I realized by permit had expired. I gathered all my paperwork and went to the borders right away and was granted a 6 week temporary study permit while I receive my CAQ. However, in the time that my permit was expired I was still studying and working because I was genuinely not aware that my permit had expired. My company was even paying me regularly despite having an expired SIN. What do I do and what are the consequences? I have already received a 6 week temporary study permit which allows me to work and I will go and renew my SIN prior to starting work. But what about the previous month that I was paid for?

Since they granted you the permit I think you should be ok.
You can work on expired sin thats not an issue.

Yes but I was working with an expired SIN and without a status too (being unaware of my study permit expiry date). Would that be an issue in the future for tax reasons or if I wanted to apply for a post grad work permit?

You can work with expired sin that is not an issue. Might be an issue for pgwp but unlikely, just dont bring it up.
