I know IRCC has issues but this is crazy. Despite trying with Safari, Chrome, and Firefox (on both IPhone and Mac) I am unable to even complete a visitor visa application. The system keeps kicking me out of the account I was able to create, saying I am "not signed in". I can't even submit a form to report a technical issue for the same reason.

What could I be doing wrong?
 
Well, it now appears you can not apply with the old format but must have access to the new portal. I wish they would say so in their web site!

Depending on which stream of visitor visa you're applying, you would be forced to apply under new portal, or be given option of old or new. There are times of the day when system sometimes is down, follow IRCC on Twitter where you can get updates on system malfunctions and outages
 
Thanks for the tip. For those of us who are Twitter-free there is virtually nowhere to get news....

Honestly, given the experiences we've had with IRCC in the past, the whole mess seems designed to inhibit tourist visa applications.
