Unable to apply online for open work permit for my spouse

Hello,

I am in Toronto on Work Permit and want to sponsor my wife for open work permit. She is already in Canada. We tried to get the open work permit at the port of entry; but, since India doesn't come under visa exempt countries, the officer indicated that my wife cannot get it at the port of entry but can apply inside. She said that the case is a straight forward one and should get the open work permit easily.

Since she is elgibile for online application, we tried creating an application, the process indicate that we have to change existing status from visitor to open work permit for which we have to retrieve the existing visa application.
We tried with passport details, UCI number , app number ,etc.. for some reason the existing application is not retrievable.

Did anyone had similar issues, any inputs would be helpful.

Hi Myra, quick question for you. If someone had an existing GC account and created a new account and trying to link the new application to the new GC account but it’s not working could it be because he has an old GC account??? Just wondering coz we were trying to link the inland application which I the sponsor has received an AOR and file number already but I couldn’t link it to the PA account. When I checked it using online tools it says in process. It’s been 4 days since we received an AOR.
