I'm hoping someone on here will be able to offer some advice on our situation please as I've googled so much my head is spinning!
My partner is a UK/Canadian dual citizen and I am a UK citizen. We have known each other for 13 years and are getting married in July 2018, but not living together at the moment due to the crazy price of housing in the UK (I am still at family home due to being a doctorate student).
Our plan was to get a place after I have finished my PhD, just before we get married.
However, as we were intending to move to Canada anyway, we realised that it makes more sense if we move as soon as we are married and invest our money buying property there; rather than waste it renting in the UK.
BUT my concern is, as 'on paper' we will have only just got married and wont have been living together - will this pretty much guarantee that I wouldn't get PR?
Our other option is for me to go out with him on a tourist visa and look for work once there and go through the process of getting a work visa etc - but I'm very worried with this route that if it doesn't work out I may be forced back the UK and I know it would destroy him having to leave Canada again :-(
We would be heading for Manitoba if that's relevant.
