Hi I am considering relocating to Newfoundland/Labrador and working as a nurse. I have a lot of experience from UK and New Zealand. The problem is my age! At 52 am I too old?? I am in excellent health and plan to work for many years yet!

I suggest you read about the PNP program for NFLD. Age is not the issue but licensing. you first have to have your credentials and education assessed by the NNAS. This takes about a year. Once you have the NNAS approval then you apply to be licensed in the province. However, you don‘t have work authorization. You will not qualify for economic immigration programs so you need a job offer. The job offer must come from a “designated employer” an employer who can’t find Canadians to do the job. Overall the process and due to Covid may take years.

You may want to work for many years but things happen. Would also look at retirement and what will be the consequences of you leaving where you are and what type of pension income you can expect if you can only work 5 years, 10 years or maybe a bit longer in Canada.
