was wondering if a Uk NARIC assessment can be equivalent to an IELTS.just read this:
There are three ways that you can score points for English language:

•be a national of a majority English speaking country (a country where most people speak English)
•pass an English language test on the Home Office list of approved English language tests (Tier1 and Tier 2)
•hold a degree that is assessed by UK NARIC as being taught in English and is equivalent to a United Kingdom Bachelor's degree.

Does Naric confirm that the degrees are equivalent in standard or one must have equivalence in language proficiency to pass it.

I don't think Canada cares about NARIC but you could use that in your proficiency letter as outside proof but I would not recommend this.

Hi,
i would ave to agree with rupeshari, that statement has nothing to do with CIC,u probably saw it on the uk border agency site, cic might or might not accept it.

Yeah, the statement was lifted from the UKBA website. I actually saw it on the UKBA site sometime ago.

Canada immigration asks for IELTS General Training option. There are a loads of other tests that might be equivalent or slightly worse or better but they want IELTS. If you want to apply for Canada immigration, therefore it would be advisable to do the IELTS.
