[flash=200,200][/flash] Would you please help me to find out whether immigration to Canada needs US FBI check or the Canada has its own database and checking system. I have been rejected to immigrate to the U.S. on some baseless grounds about 10 years ago and now I am considering immigration to Canada. Thanks a lot.

US FBI certificate is mandatory if you have ever been in the US for six months or longer.

If you have been refused immigration to the US, you will have to declare this in your application to immigrate to Canada and explain the reasons. If you fail to declare your refusal Canada will know anyway since the US and Canada share information - and then your application will be refused for lying in your application.

So as long as you declare that you were refused by the US and state the reasons, you should be fine.
