The below post was found on Trackitt. It is a big blow to all from U.A.E who have filed for PR. iF ANYONE gets a similar message from CHC write a reply to them that if we cancel our visa then we could stay back for just one month and then the fine starts for overstay.

The below is the post of AARANHA from trackitt.

Hi Guys,

I got my medical requests today (it was dated 29 march)

the letter clearly mentiones that if my visa is approved for canada, we need to cancel our UAE residency visa before stamping our PR.

Do you think thats quite justified? Does anyone else have this problem?

Also can you pls tell me if i can pay my Rpf fees online or by a demand draft.

Thanks.

Yes, because so many non citizens of the UAE apply for PR status, Land in Canada with their family. The family remains in Canada, the spouse heads back to the UAE to work, doesn't pay taxes in Canada, yet his family gets all the benefits of residing in Canada, Child tax credit, HST credits. Then the spouse and family obtain citizenship and return to the UAE. The spouse in the UAE claims to maintain his PR status by having his now Citizen wife accompanying him.

You have to pay them with a draft.

To the first question - sure, justified.
About payment - only those who are in Canada can pay online. I assume you are not, then no, you cannot pay online.

this is a very bad news. they are doing this with
all people who are living in gulf or what ?

I mean how can you leave everything when you don't know
you will get job there or not. if they will take our job guarantee
we will cancel our visa but without any surety it is ridiculous

Regards
Shezad

That't the point. If you are not sure to move to Canada then don't move.
If you want to see how things are in Canada take visitors visa. Go there, have a look.
Since you managed to find a job in Gulf that let you earn enough money to collect the minimum amount required for immigration most probably you are a very capable person.
Most probably you will find job in Canada.

Agree with PMM and Slavasz...

I know couple of families doing the same. They get $300 / month for each child as benefit even while they stay in UAE and not in Canada. They do not pay any taxes and every year they visit Canada, spend a week or so and come back...

My point is, if you do not want to go or live there, why apply for PR! Just for benefits and to keep a window open!

there is no point of surety to move canada or not

Point is that once you will cancel your visa you can't stay here
that means you have to move your country with your family
and send CIC confirmation and passport.

and suppose if any reason stop your visa then you are screwed
completely

then why to apply for PR? rather apply for a visitor visa and have a look around in Canada...

read the post from Shibuya carefully. "the letter clearly mentiones that if my visa is approved for canada, we need to cancel our UAE residency visa before stamping our PR." You are on the safer side my friend.

As such without approval of your Canada PR, you are not going to cancel your UAE residency.

ya but still it is risky some how you have to pack you bag
and move india and wait there for your stamped passport.

I m confused after hearing this ::)

Dont worry man... if your goal is to migrate to Canada..you would...

Good luck...

interesting fact..
i had no clue about this one.
we get 12 months to enter canada from the date of our medicals.. but in this case you HAVE TO remain unemployed for a while before goign to canada and leave for canada immediately when you get visa, no point delaying your landing since you would be unemployed.
also you will have to change mailing address with visa office .. :-[

but..
what about qorax.. he is still in UAE and he has already got the visa now.. how?
i think i'll enquire about this rule with him as well

I think this is new rule because my uncle who was in saudi
did same thing.

he Dropped his family in Canada and come back to work in Saudi.

but now they they bring this new rule before issuing your visa

yes maybe its a new rule..
another point to be noted is that when you receive passport request, i think the letter says that you need to submit the passport to visa office within 45 days.
so even if you resign the very next day after you receive passport request, 30 days of notice period, then after that getting settlement money from any company in UAE is so difficult, then sign visa cancellation form then run after PRO to get visa cancelled..
dude we need to pre plan our resignation well in advance in this case.. i would say 3 months before you are expecting your passport request lol

this is stupid
