Hi All,

I have two questions regarding visitor visa Extension.

I entered Canada a couple months a go with my Girlfriend coming back from traveling and they gave me a 100 day visa, I am applying for extension right now so I do it 30 days before my status ends. In my visa it says case type 10 and in my conditions it says, must leave Canada by 27 july 2015 and must furnish proof of compliance on 27 july 2015 at port of exit. We are currently getting our things ready to apply for PR from outside of Canada, so getting the police, health check, and funds arranged.

My question is this, if I apply for extension and have to leave before I have heard anything back from CIC, what do I do for this compliace, because I will have overstayed but I should have implied status?

My second question is this, my girlfriend is writing me a letter of financial and housing support to accompany my application, does this letter have to be notarized or what needs to be included for it to make this significant.

You mean you got a visitor record, not a visa. Correct use of terms is important for correct advise.

I don't get it... you would have overstayed how? Because you are saying "in case you have to leave"....

Why would it need to be notarized? Does it say so in the requirements? If not then no, do as the checklist/requirements say, nothing more, nothing less.

Thanks for the reply!

1. Yes I have a visitor record sorry for that.

2. I might have to go after I was supposed to leave as it says in my visitor record and before the time I hear something back from CIC, since this can take up to 3 months or so. What I am wondering is this, if I leave in between they have no record of when I left, which is why they make me furnish proof of appliance in the first place, so they know I left. If I do have to leave do I have to go into the office at the airport and say that I am leaving just so they know I have left?

3. I wasn't sure about the requirements I guess I should have looked more into that.

I tried to call CIC about 15 times but they are always to busy and you can't wait in line.

Ah ok. First of all Canada knows when you leave and when you enter, don't think they don't.

If you submit your extension while your record is still valid and then leave with an expired record you are under implied status, so no harm made.

Keep trying. I think some have emails, so try looking for it.

Good Luck.
