Hi,
I landed 8 months back.
1- Can I sponsor my parents in the first year after landing.
2- Can I apply for OSAP now.

1) No - you can't. Under the new rules announaced, to qualify to sponsor your parents, you must provide three years of Canadian tax returns. So you will have to be in Canada for at least three years before you can apply to sponsor your parents. You must also demonstrate that you meet the minimum income requirements for all three of those years. If you plan to take OSAP and be a student, then I don't think it will be possible for you to meet the low income cut off during the years you are studying.
