Hi

I've a query, would be great if someone could clarify.

I landed in Canada in June 2018. My girlfriend got her COPR and did soft landing in Oct 2018. We plan to get married in Jan 2019. (Originally, plan was to marry much later).

1) Can we get married in home country or do we have to necessarily get married in Canada (ceremony and registration)?
2) Can we do ceremony in home country and register marriage in Canada?
3) Will CIC raise observation that two individuals landed and got married within few months after PR?
4) If PR card of girl doesn't arrive before I leave, can she enter Canada on PRTD after the ceremony?
5) Will any of this be a problem? Should I inform CIC anything upfront?

Thanks

1. You can marry where ever you wish.
2. Foreign marriages are not registered in Canada.
3. No, and there is no need to inform them, they don't care.
4. Yes.
5. No.
