I am on Work Permit & residing in Canada for last 2 yrs with my family (Spouse & child - 4yrs). In Jan-2012, my employer got my WP extended for 1 more yr. (along with my family). Myself and spouse received our extension WPs for the desired date (till 2013) but my 4 yr son was asked to undergo general medical tests and was given Visitor record only till Apr-2012 and I was asked to re-apply for his extension after the medical tests were completed.
I got his Medical tests done and have applied for his extension last week which should take 1 month.
Issue: I have an emergency in India with my family member in Hospital for which I have to travel immediately to India within this week. I will be travelling with my spouse and son to India. My question is : On my return to Canada from India (after 2-3 weeks), will I face any issue at the airport for my Son since his current Visitor Record will be expired by the time we return from India (and the extension is still under-progress and I guess will become invalid).
1) Will he get his Visitor Record at the airport on our arrival based on my and my spouse's WP date of 2013? If yes, are there 100% chances for the same. If No, pls let me know why is it so.
Basically, I want to know are there any chances of getting into any issue on our return to Canada.
