Hi all

I am not a Turkish citizen and don't speak Turkish. Infact I only spent a total of 5 months in turkey for part of my degree while studying. As per cic rules I know you technically don't need to provide a PC unless you've been in the country longer then 6 months I just provided it for peace of mind as I hear more and more of people being asked even if they've been in a country 4-5 months..

Now I obtained the certificate from the Turkish consulate in Los Angeles California however it is in 3 languages -

Turkish
English
French

This is the only way they would issue it and some words such as country of birth are stated in Turkish only but the main points such as my full name, city of birth, my address where I reside and stating I have no criminal background logged with them all appear in English.

Do I need to get this translated or not?

Thanks

Hi Starcatcher999,

I also obtained my police certificate from Turkish Consulate in Toronto. However, in the CIC website they mentioned that it should be obtained from the Turkish Embassy. Can you please let me know if Embassy/Consulate makes a difference? Has your police certificate from the Turkish Consulate in LA has been accepted by CIC?

By the way, I have translated mine just in case:)

Thanks
