I'm trying t sponsor my son who is 19 years old but the lawyer that I have said I cannot sponsor him because the new law says below 19 years old. Please enlighten me your prompt answer is highly appreciated. Thanks

Law changed on Aug 1. You must be 18 or under to qualify as a dependent. Nobody aged 19 or older can be sponsored, unless they have a medical condition or disability that causes them to be financially dependent on their parents.

Agreed. Unfortunately you're too late by about a month.

Thanks I just thought that he has a chance since he is 19.

thanks for the input I just feel it was unfair because when I had my application they required me to do medicals for my son so that I won't have a hard time to sponsor them. Now they won't allow me to sponsor them at all.

He would have to be under 19 (i.e. 18 years old or younger).

He required a medical because at that time he still qualified to be sponsored. It's really too bad you didn't include him as an accompanying dependent in your own application. Then he would have likely been OK.
