I want to visit Canada as tourist and have completed online application form up to document uploading.Electronic sign and fee payment is next step.My passport is due for renewal.Shall I pay fee and sign up for visa or wait until my passport is remew with in about 45 days

If you are not in a rush why not wait for your passport to be renewed first. Sometimes IRCC grants visa where in the expiry date is a day before the passport expires. What a waste in case you get a visa and your passport is only valid for a year.
