TRV to become common law partners

I'm Edrian, male from the Philippines and I have a Candian boyfriend from Ontario and we're in a relationship for almost a year now through skype and emails but we haven't seen each other yet so he is coming here this year to finally meet me and my family. And when he get here we're planning to apply myself a TRV to come back with him to Canada.

My question is,if I'll just apply for a 2 week visit and they will grant me the TRV but my real intention is to stay up to six months then apply for another 6 months extension before my visa expires for us to have a cohabitation for a year and then we'll apply for the common law partner sponsorship, will the immigration give me a VISA extension if they will see that I just applied for a 2 week visit on my first applicatioin but then I have stayed for 6 months and didn't go back to my country?

No one can give you a definite answer unfortunately. Everything will be up to the visa office who will review your application. I have heard a couple of people be approved their extensions (reason they gave is to complete common law) but take that with a grain of salt as every application is assessed individually. The first major hurdle is being approved a TRV so best of luck!
