Hi , I am reaching out on a complex situation. I was recently got arrested in the US on assault charges and F1 visa was revoked. I was attending a university in New York and i was in my 2nd year post graduate program. All the charges were dropped by the court but my lawyer told me to leave US otherwise i will be arrested by ICE since my visa got revoked,He advised me to go back and reapply for F1 which i did but it got refused by the embassy. I have a Canada Visitor visa which is valid till 2030. I am planning to traval to Canada and i am just concerned if I'll be able to travel to Canada without any issues ? Does US Visa revocation has any implication on my Canada Visa? How can I check if i am good to traval to Canada without any issues?
Any guidance or shared experiences would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

You can’t check if you will have difficulty entering Canada. Very unlikely that your TRV was cancelled but your immigration history in the US may be an issue at the port of entry. Why do you want to visit Canada, what are your ties to your home country, how much funds can you show, how long would you like to visit Canada, etc. all have an impact on whether you will be allowed to enter Canada Why you left the US and why your F1 was cancelled may also be a line of questioning.

Thanks for your reply. The reason for visiting Canada is to get admission in a university, obtain study permit and finish my Masters degree. Funds are not an issue and i was falsely accused of assaulting my landlord. Your reply will be much appreciated.

You don't need to visit Canada to obtain a study permit. Apply with LOA, PAL and justifying costs of program with career progression when you return home. When applying for study permit, you will need to say that US visa was revoked and that you were charged with assault even if dropped.

FYI - You cannot apply for a study permit from within Canada as a visitor. You have to apply from outside of Canada.
