Hi,
TRV refused. They have said travel history is one of the reasons on the letter.

Schedule 1 says 5 years is required but where does it say we need 10 years ? A lot of people seem to say so but I cannot get this requirement from anywhere.

Someone who has had a refusal and then a successful application can please comment on this.

People just submit 10 years of their stamps and visas in the Travel History section (if applying online).

Specifically it is a plus to have short-term travels from visa-required developed countries.

Putting 10 years of visa stamps is one thing (which we can do) but writing actual dates of travel is another thing.

My question is do we need actual dates of travel for more than previous 5 years ?

Travel history ?
Have you been to Canada or had any connection to Canada before ?
There is another reason for sure, people with no travel history have got approvals.

If you applied via online, there are categories where you need to attached your files. Purpose of Travel, Proof of Means of Financial Support, Travel History and etc.. Beside these categories is a ? icon. When you hover your mouse on it, it gives you an idea on what can be attached on the specific folder. For Travel History it says the following
* your previous passports and/or visas (used within the last 10 years to travel outside your country
* entry/exit stamps
* study and/ or work permits
* expired or valid visas
* boarding passes
So the 10 years you ask refers to your "previous passports and/or visas (used within the last 10 years to travel outside your country" . No actual dates were asked. Up to you if you want to create a summary but not required. The contents of the travel history are the proof that supports the details/info you write on the Sched 1 form.

Visa officers checks an applicant's travel because this proves that he/she is financially capable to travel and that he/she haven’t overstayed in any country that he/she visited. Although some cases were approved even without Travel History, provided that their purpose is valid, ties are strong and they are financially capable to travel.
